Gallery IS : Wearble Art



Please visit Gallery IS through the month of February to see a great collection of handmade art and craft. All the work is wearable, from felt boots to painted t-shirts and many pieces of fine jewellery.

Open call to all artists.

We are now accepting submissions for our first group show of 2008. Wearable Art is a showcase for jewellery designers, glass artists, sculpture and ceramics and anyone else working in wearable, functional art.

All media are acceptable, but pieces must be wearable. For example; beads, necklaces, brooches, bracelets, anklets, hair accessories, and any other imaginative wearable art. Professional, emerging, and student work will be considered. A maximum of 5 submissions please.

The deadline for submissions to the Gallery's Wearable Art group show is January 26th, 08.
Notice of acceptance will be given by Jan 29th, 08.
Delivery of accepted artwork must be made by Feb 2nd, 08.

Please review our submission guidelines.

SUBMISSION FEE FOR ENTRY IS $5.00 PER ARTIST.

Official show dates are Feb 4th to Mar 1st, 2008.
Opening reception Feb 8th, 6-8pm.

All submissions must be made to the Gallery IS.

Gallery IS Presents: Solo Show

Debbie Hunter's show promises to be full of her very unique and vibrant use of colour and design. This past year Debbie won the master class of the Central Zone Show at the ACACA and also the Sterling Award at the Alberta Wide ACACA show at the Red Deer and District Museum. She is also a recipient of the Lillian Nunn Scholarship.

Gallery IS patrons will have the chance to be a part of this award winning artist's First Solo Show this January. Debbie Hunter is currently working and living in Stettler AB and is originally from Red Deer Alberta.

A First Solo Show by Corinne Anderton

Gallery IS, is pleased to present the first solo show by local artist Corinne Anderton, "Revelations: Revealing the Divine".
Corinne's vision for her solo opportunity is an installation centering around fabric and encaustic painting with wax . An avid and experienced quilter, Corinne will explore the possibilities of fibre art in a 3D environment.
Expect the unexpected from this experimental artist.
